and their general effects on the properties of components.
NO CLAIMS CAN BE MADE AGAINST FLAME HARDENERS LTD. FOR INFORMATION SUPPLIED IN
THESE PAGES. THE RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE SUCCESFUL OUTCOME OF ANY DESIGN AND
MANUFACTURE RESTS ENTIRELY WITH THE MANUFACTURER, WHETHER OR NOT IT IS THE
MANUFACTURER'S DESIGN.
No assurances can be given that any particular combination of material and
treatment will perform satisfactorily in all or any particular situation or
application.
We are always prepared to discuss each application individually, but strongly
recommend that you discuss each and every proposal with your designer/s, and
materials engineers, or seek independent advice.
We wish to remind you that straightening carries a risk of breakage, all
straightening is only undertaken entirely at the customers own risk.
It is incumbent on you to carry out tests and trials to determine the
suitability of the material, manufacturing route, and heat treatment; for your
proposed service, before determining any specific route.
In addition, it should be remembered that heat treatment will usually produce
distortion and could induce cracking. These can result from either the relief
of; casting, forging, rolling, or machining stresses, or from stresses induced
by the heat treatment. The heat treatment cycle is generally dictated by the
grade/type of material chosen, the component design, and the results required.
It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure that his/her proposed design
and heat treatment will produce the outcome required.
